Several of the subjects were psychology students at Yale University.

A few years ago, in one of the most fascinating and disturbing experiments in behavioural psychology, Stanley Milgram of Yale University tested 40 subjects from all walks of life for their willingness to obey instructions given by a "leader" in a situation in which the subjects might feel a personal distaste for the action they were called upon to perform.

It is the oldest cemetery ever found in the Pacific islands, and it harbors the remains of an ancient people archaeologists call the Lapita.

Indigenous Tasmanians used only four terms to indicate numbers of objects"中,出题人考查了term一词的僻义"术语、措辞"。

"what you hear is only the trip of the iceberg," says Trevor Ford, a glass expert at Resolve Engineering in Brisbane, Queensland. He believes the reason is simple: "No-one wants bad press."

A.suggests that publicity about nickel failure has been suppressed

B.regularly sees cases of nickel sulphid failure

C.closely examined all the glass in one building

D.was involved with the construction of Bishops Walk

E.recommended the rebuilding of Waterfront Place

F.thinks the benefits of toughened glass are exaggerate

G.claims that nickel sulphide failure is very unusual

H.refers to the most extreme case of delayed failure

The American zoologist Donald Griffin, who was largely responsible for the discovery of sonar in bats, coined the term 'echolocation' to cover both sonar and radar, whether used by animals or by human instrument.

题干:The word 'echolocation' was first used by someone working as a ______.
