中国大陆考生雅思写作平均在5.5分左右，可见写作一直是我们特别头疼的一项。就词汇这项来说，有些同学在背单词的时候非常困惑备考时把一本单词书都背下来了，考试的时候用复杂、长的单词，但是为什么写作的成绩还是上不去呢。为了解决这个问题，武汉环球教育王琼老师就从写作评分标准中的词汇这项，给大家支支招。

　　首先，来看下词汇这项7分的要求：

　　uses a sufficient range of vocabulary to allow some flexibility and precision

　　uses less common lexical items with some awareness of style and collocation

　　由此可以看出词汇这项的要求是灵活性、准确性和学术性。

　　如何用词灵活呢？

　　方法一：同义词

　　例如题目：Caring for children is an important thing of the society. It is suggested that all mothers and fathers be required to take childcare training courses. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

　　可以找出同义替换词care-look after  important-significant  it is suggested that -some people hold the opinion that  mothers and fathers-parents   take-attend

　　再把句型改下就可以写出开头段的改写。

　　Some people hold the opinion that attending childcare training courses is crucial for all parents, since it plays a significant role in looking after children.

　　因此，大作文要积累话题同义词。例如教育类，需要积累：

　　获得知识 acquire/ gain/ obtain/ get access to knowledge

　　参与教学活动 participate in / take part in/ get involved in teaching activities

　　传授 instruct/ impart...to / equip...with等等的表达。

　　小作文要积累题型同义词。例如线图，需要积累。

　　上升 v  increase  grow  climb   rise  go up

　　下降 v  decrease  fall  decline  drop  go down等等的表达。

　　方法二：派生词

　　例如：上育儿培训课程给父母带来很多好处。可以写成：

　　Attending childcare training courses brings several benefits to parents .

　　Attending childcare training courses is beneficial to parents.

　　因此，背单词的时候可以记忆一个单词的名词、动词、形容词、副词等形式。

　　方法三：代词

　　代词包括：人称代词、物主代词、指示代词、关系代词等。具体运用例如：

　　Another misconceived idea of childcare is that it is a simple process of feeding children and making them sleep regularly. Contemporary childcare is not limited to this. 这两句中用了 it them this三个代词。

　　方法四：上下义词

　　一个词的意思包含另一个词，词义被包含的叫下义词，包含其他词的叫上义词。

　　具体运用例如：上义词+such as/ like/ including+ 下义词。

　　As for those who cannot afford the cost of the course, they could acquire childcare knowledge by other methods, such as books, TV programs and the Internet. 这句中举例用了下义词books, TV programs and the Internet。

　　如何用词准确？

　　先来看几组词：大爷old man大雨heavy rain 大房子big house 大额 large amount

　　看电视 watch TV  看报read newspaper 看父母 visit parents看医生 see a doctor 由此可以看出中文的“大”在英文中根据修饰对象的特点有不同的词，中文的“看”在英文中根据宾语的特点有不同的词。

　　提高准确性的方法

　　方法一：查 corpus of contemporary American English，在这个网站中可以查到短语的搭配使用频率。

　　方法二：积累搭配，在英文原版素材中积累写作话题相关的词汇。

　　如何用词学术性呢？

　　首先来看一个列表：

　　例如：Young parents equipped with sufficient childcare knowledge can better protect their babies/ infants from various risks, better catch on to/understand a child' s emotional needs and help set up/establish healthy eating habits. 根据上面的列表，可以看出baby，catch on to，set up这三个词是非正式用语，需要修改。
